Ms. Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner’s interest in mountain climbing developed at a very young age. At the age of 13, Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner ventured on her first easy climbing tours at the local "Sturzhahn"
In the year 1998, Gerlinde summitted "Cho Oyu", the first of the 14 eight thounders. Later she successfully climbed peaks such as Nanga Parbat, Lhotse, Kangchenjunga, Everest and so on. Finally in 2011, she climbed "K2" and became the second woman in the world to have climbed all the 14 peaks taller than eight thound meters.
Additionally, Gerlinde is the first woman to climb all the 14 eight thousand meter and above peaks without any supplimental oxygen and use of high altitude porters or Sherpas.
